Beef Stir-Fry with Magic Sauce π₯©πΆοΈ
βI swear, the magic is in the sauce for this dish…β β tender beef, crisp veggies, and a glossy, savory glaze that steals the show!
π₯ Ingredients
- 1 Β½ lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
π For the Magic Sauce
- Β½ cup soy sauce
- β cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening slurry)
π₯ Instructions
- Toss beef with 2 tbsp cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic, onions, and peppers. Stir-fry for 3β4 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Whisk together all sauce ingredients (except the cornstarch slurry) and pour into the pan. Bring to a simmer.
- Add beef back to the pan, stirring to coat in sauce. Add slurry and cook 2β3 more minutes until thick and glossy.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
π‘ Tip: For extra flavor, marinate the beef in 2 tbsp soy sauce + 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tsp sugar for 30 minutes before cooking.
