Cajun Honey Butter Salmon offers a delightful blend of sweetness and spice. This dish features perfectly seared Cajun-seasoned salmon paired with a delectable honey garlic butter sauce. Ready in just 15 minutes with minimal cleanup, this one-skillet wonder is sure to become a favorite.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, seasoned with salt to taste
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika (regular paprika if unavailable)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper (or 1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cajun Seasoning: In a bowl, mix together Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  2. Make the Honey Butter: Beat the butter with an electric hand mixer for 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy. Blend honey and cream in a blender until smooth. Combine 1 tablespoon of the prepared Cajun seasoning with the honey mixture. Store the remaining seasoning in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
  3. Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Rub with oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the Salmon: Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the salmon for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and crusty.
  5. Add the Honey Butter: Once the salmon is cooked, turn off the grill or stove. Spread a generous amount of Cajun Honey Butter over each fillet. Allow the butter to melt for about 30 seconds, then spread it over the salmon with the back of a spoon. Flip the fillets and repeat on the other side.
  6. Serve: Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
