Burnt Basque Cheesecake
Creamy on the inside, deeply caramelized on top —
this rustic cheesecake is effortlessly elegant and unforgettable.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (450g) cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line an 8-inch springform pan with parchment paper, letting it overhang.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour in heavy cream and vanilla, mixing gently.
- Sift in flour and salt, then mix just until combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is deeply golden and slightly cracked.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely. The center will set as it cools.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before slicing (optional but recommended).
