Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1¼ cups milk (any type)
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until blended (a few lumps are okay).
- Heat a lightly greased pan or griddle over medium heat.
- Pour ¼ cup batter for each pancake and cook until bubbles form on top (2–3 minutes). Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until golden.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, butter, or fresh fruit.
