Authentic Greek Tzatziki

This classic Greek tzatziki is creamy, tangy, and refreshing. Made with thick yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, and fresh herbs, it’s the perfect dip or sauce for grilled meats, pita bread, and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup grated cucumber (squeezed dry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or red wine vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Grate cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel.
  2. In a bowl, combine yogurt, garlic, olive oil, dill, and lemon juice.
  3. Fold in grated cucumber.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with extra dill before serving.
