Ingredients
- 1 kg pork shoulder or pork leg
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme or rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Season pork with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Sear pork in a hot pan until browned on all sides.
- Transfer to a roasting pan.
- Sauté onions until slightly caramelized, then add garlic.
- Add onions to the pan with pork.
- Drizzle honey over pork and pour in white wine.
- Cover with foil and roast for about 2 hours.
- Baste occasionally for extra flavor.
- Uncover last 15 minutes to caramelize the top.
- Let rest before slicing and serving.
