Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and cocoa powder, then sprinkle over batter.
- Slowly pour hot water over the top (do NOT mix).
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until top is set but inside is gooey.
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Tips
Do not overbake! The magic is in the gooey center. Serve immediately for the best lava texture.
