Savory Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Ingredients
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 cup finely chopped sweet onion
- 1 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic until soft. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Fold in the sautéed vegetables and half of the shredded cheese.
- Shape mixture into a loaf and place in a greased baking dish or loaf pan.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Top with remaining cheese and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
