📝 Ingredients
For the Meat Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
For the Cheese Layer:
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Other:
- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked
- Extra mozzarella for topping
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Sauce
Brown beef and sausage in a large skillet. Drain excess grease.
Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste, seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar.
Simmer for 20–25 minutes.
2️⃣ Prepare Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, parsley, and 1 cup mozzarella.
3️⃣ Assemble
In a baking dish, layer:
- Sauce
- Noodles
- Ricotta mixture
- Mozzarella
Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and extra mozzarella on top.
4️⃣ Bake
Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
Uncover and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
5️⃣ Rest & Serve
Let sit 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and share with love.
