Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 12 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
- 2 cups sour cream
- 2 cups cottage cheese or ricotta
- 2½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown ground beef with onion in a large skillet. Drain excess grease.
- Season beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a bowl, mix sour cream and cottage cheese.
- Layer half the noodles in a greased baking dish.
- Add half the beef mixture, then half the cheese mixture.
- Repeat layers and top with shredded cheddar.
- Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Make-Ahead Option
- Assemble the casserole the night before
- Cover and refrigerate
- Bake fresh the next day
