🍠Southern Candied Sweet Potato Bites
A nostalgic Southern classic made just like our moms and grandmas used to make.
Sweet, buttery, caramelized bites that melt in your mouth.
Ingredients
- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- ½ cup butter
- Âľ cup brown sugar
- ÂĽ cup white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place cubed sweet potatoes into a greased baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Add brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt.
- Stir until smooth and syrupy.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the sweet potatoes.
- Toss gently to coat.
- Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, stirring once halfway.
- Remove when potatoes are tender and deeply caramelized.
