Cheesy Sausage Breakfast Casserole

This warm, cheesy, sausage-stuffed casserole is the perfect comfort dish — easy, hearty, and ideal for holidays, brunches, or weekend breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup biscuit mix (such as Bisquick)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish.
  2. Cook sausage in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Spread cooked sausage evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, biscuit mix, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Pour the mixture over the sausage and cheese in the dish.
  7. Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until golden and set in the center.
  8. Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips

  • Add diced peppers or onions for extra flavor.
  • Use spicy sausage if you prefer some heat.
  • Great for meal prep — reheats beautifully.
