Creamy Paprika Chicken with Golden Fries

Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 300 g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt & pepper
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tbsp oil or butter
For the Sauce:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika (sweet or mild)
- 150 ml heavy cream
- 50 ml water or chicken stock
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
For the Fries:
- 300–400 g French fries (frozen or homemade)
- Salt
Instructions
- Prepare the fries: Cook in the oven or air fryer according to package directions until crispy. Season with salt.
- Sear the chicken: Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear in a hot pan with oil or butter until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until softened. Add tomato paste and cook 1 minute.
- Simmer the cream sauce: Add paprika, cream, and water (or broth). Bring to a gentle simmer and reduce for 3–5 minutes.
- Combine chicken and sauce: Return chicken to the pan and coat well. Simmer 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
- Serve: Plate fries and serve with the creamy paprika chicken. Garnish with parsley.
Tips & Variations
- Add a pinch of cayenne for heat.
- Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles instead of fries.
- Add mushrooms or bell peppers for extra vegetables.
