“Probably THE recipe of how you found me on the internet. One of my first, soon-to-be Tipsy classics. The BEST round steak & gravy. This recipe gives you THREE ways to make it — Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, or Oven!”
📝 Ingredients
- 2 lbs round steak, sliced into strips
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp oil (for browning)
🔥 Option 1: Instant Pot (Best Method!)
- Turn Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat oil.
- Brown the steak on both sides.
- Add onion, broth, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Seal and cook on HIGH pressure for 30 minutes.
- Natural release 10 minutes, then quick release.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
🐢 Option 2: Slow Cooker
- Add steak and onions to the slow cooker.
- Whisk broth, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour over the steak.
- Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
🔥 Option 3: Oven
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Add steak and onion to a baking dish.
- Mix broth, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over steak.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 hours.
