🥩 Round Steak & Gravy — Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, or Oven

“Probably THE recipe of how you found me on the internet. One of my first, soon-to-be Tipsy classics. The BEST round steak & gravy. This recipe gives you THREE ways to make it — Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, or Oven!”

📝 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs round steak, sliced into strips
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil (for browning)

🔥 Option 1: Instant Pot (Best Method!)

  1. Turn Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat oil.
  2. Brown the steak on both sides.
  3. Add onion, broth, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Seal and cook on HIGH pressure for 30 minutes.
  5. Natural release 10 minutes, then quick release.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

🐢 Option 2: Slow Cooker

  1. Add steak and onions to the slow cooker.
  2. Whisk broth, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Pour over the steak.
  4. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.

🔥 Option 3: Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Add steak and onion to a baking dish.
  3. Mix broth, gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over steak.
  4. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 hours.
