Beef Stew Served in a Bread Bowl 👌
Rich, hearty, and served inside a warm crusty bread bowl — the ultimate comfort meal!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs (680g) stewing beef, cubed
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 carrots, cut into chunks
- 3 potatoes, peeled & cubed
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp rosemary
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1–2 crusty bread bowls (hollowed out)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
- Coat the beef cubes with flour, shaking off any excess.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot and brown the beef on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add carrots, potatoes, and celery. Stir for 3 minutes.
- Return beef to the pot. Add beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender and stew is thickened.
- Ladle the hot stew into hollowed-out bread bowls.
- Garnish with parsley and serve immediately!
