“I swear, the magic is in the sauce for this dish…” — tender beef, crisp veggies, and a glossy, savory glaze that steals the show!

Beef Stir-Fry with Magic Sauce

🥘 Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

🌟 For the Magic Sauce

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening slurry)

🔥 Instructions

  1. Toss beef with 2 tbsp cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic, onions, and peppers. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. Whisk together all sauce ingredients (except the cornstarch slurry) and pour into the pan. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add beef back to the pan, stirring to coat in sauce. Add slurry and cook 2–3 more minutes until thick and glossy.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
💡 Tip: For extra flavor, marinate the beef in 2 tbsp soy sauce + 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tsp sugar for 30 minutes before cooking.
