🍄 Crispy Fried Mushrooms with Cool Ranch Dip

Golden, crunchy mushrooms with a creamy cool ranch dip — the perfect snack or appetizer everyone will devour!

 

Ingredients

For the Crispy Fried Mushrooms:

  • 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the Cool Ranch Dip:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mushrooms: Pat mushrooms dry with paper towels. Slice larger ones in half if needed.
  2. Set up breading station: Place flour (mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper) in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Coat mushrooms: Dredge each mushroom in flour, dip into egg, then roll in breadcrumbs until well coated.
  4. Fry: Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Make the dip: In a small bowl, mix together all dip ingredients until creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Serve: Arrange mushrooms on a plate around a bowl of ranch dip. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and enjoy hot!
Tip: For extra crunch, double-dip the mushrooms (flour → egg → flour → egg → breadcrumbs). These pair perfectly with garlic aioli, spicy mayo, or honey mustard too!
