Halal Garlic Parmesan Chicken 🧄🍗🧀
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into strips)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 8 slices halal beef bacon or turkey bacon
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise or yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey (optional, for glaze)
Directions
- Preheat oven: to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly with olive oil.
- Prepare chicken: Season the chicken strips with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and toss well.
- Wrap: Spread a thin layer of parmesan and mayo (or yogurt) mix over each strip, then wrap each one with a slice of halal beef/turkey bacon.
- Bake: Arrange in the pan seam-side down. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and cooked through. For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
- Glaze: Mix lemon juice, honey, and a little leftover parmesan mixture. Brush lightly over the baked chicken before serving.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or grilled veggies.
Tips
- Make it spicy — add a pinch of chili flakes or cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
- To make it lighter, use Greek yogurt instead of mayo.
- Halal beef bacon or smoked turkey strips work great for that “crispy” finish.
