Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken 🍯🍗🌿
Perfect with steamed rice or noodles and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Ingredients
- 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breast, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water
Time & Yield
- Prep: 15 minutes
- Cook: 20 minutes
- Total: 35 minutes
- Serves: 4
Tips
- Double-fry for extra crunch: refry 1–2 minutes after the first fry.
- Air fryer: spray coated chicken with oil and cook at 390°F/200°C for 12–14 minutes, turning once.
- Add chili flakes or sriracha for heat.
Instructions
- Season & Coat: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dip in egg, then coat with cornstarch.
- Fry: Fry in hot oil until golden and cooked through; drain on a rack.
- Sauce: Melt butter; sauté garlic briefly. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar; bring to a simmer. Stir in slurry and cook until thick and glossy.
- Toss: Add chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately.
