Heaven On Earth Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 prepared angel food cake
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant cheesecake pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can (30 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
- 1 tablespoon roasted almond slices (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cake: Cut the angel food cake into cubes and set aside.
- Make the Pudding Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
- Layer the Cake: In a 13×9-inch baking dish, arrange half of the cake cubes on the bottom. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake layer.
- Repeat the Layers: Add the remaining cake cubes, followed by the remaining cherry pie filling.
- Add the Pudding: Pour the prepared pudding mixture evenly over the cake layers, making sure to cover the entire surface.
- Top with Whipped Topping: Spread the whipped topping evenly over the pudding layer.
- Chill and Garnish: Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or until set. If desired, sprinkle roasted almond slices on top just before serving.
