Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- ½ yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic
- 3 cups water
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
- 16 oz spaghetti noodles
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Air Pot:
Set the Air Pot to the sauté mode. Once heated, add olive oil and the chopped onions. Sauté until the onions become tender and translucent.
2. Cook the Meat:
Add the ground beef to the pot along with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook the meat thoroughly until browned.
3. Deglaze the Pot:
Remove the cooked beef and set aside. Add 3 cups of water to the pot, scraping the bottom to release any browned bits. This helps prevent a “burn” warning from the Air Pot.
4. Prepare the Pasta:
Break the spaghetti noodles in half and arrange them in a crisscross pattern in the Air Pot.
5. Add Sauce and Tomatoes:
Pour the jar of spaghetti sauce over the noodles, followed by the diced tomatoes (if using). Gently pour water around the edges and over the tomatoes to ensure everything is submerged.
6. Pressure Cook:
Secure the lid on the Air Pot and set the valve to “sealing.” Select the pressure cook option and set the timer for 5 minutes.
7. Natural and Quick Release:
Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes. Then, perform a quick release by turning the valve until the pressure pin drops.
8. Final Steps:
Open the lid and stir the spaghetti, sauce, tomatoes, and meat together until well combined.
