This incredibly flavorful and moist cake is a true keeper—perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • All-purpose flour: 2 cups
  • Granulated sugar: 1 1/2 cups
  • Baking powder: 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Eggs (room temperature): 2
  • Vegetable oil: 3/4 cup
  • Sour cream: 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
  • Cream cheese (softened): 8 ounces

For the Frosting:

  • Cream cheese (softened): 4 ounces
  • Unsalted butter (softened): 4 tablespoons
  • Powdered sugar: 2 cups
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Milk: 1 tablespoon (or as needed)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan to ensure the cake doesn’t stick.

2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Combine the Wet Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, vegetable oil, sour cream, vanilla extract, and softened cream cheese until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated.

4. Mix and Combine:

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake light and tender.

5. Bake the Cake:

Pour the batter evenly into your prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Cool Completely:

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely before applying the frosting.

Frosting Instructions:

1. Beat Cream Cheese and Butter:

In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until the texture is smooth and creamy.

2. Add Sugar and Vanilla:

Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until the frosting becomes fluffy and well-combined.

3. Adjust Frosting Consistency:

If needed, add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.

4. Frost the Cake:

Once the cake has cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.

5. Serve and Enjoy:

Slice, serve, and savor every creamy bite!
