Ingredients:

  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • (Optional) Rosemary or your favorite seasoning blend

Preparation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Egg White Mixture:
    Whisk the egg whites until frothy, then stir in the salt, pepper, paprika, and any additional spices you prefer, such as rosemary or a special fries seasoning blend available at most supermarkets.
  2. Coat the Potatoes:
    Slice the potatoes into sticks and place them in a large bowl. Pour the seasoned egg whites over the potatoes, and use your hands to mix everything thoroughly, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
  3. Prepare the Baking Tray:
    Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or baking paper.
  4. Arrange and Bake:
    Spread the potato sticks evenly on the tray, making sure to leave space between them so they don’t stick together during baking. Place the tray in the preheated oven.
  5. Monitor and Flip:
    After about 10 minutes, check on the fries and flip them to ensure even cooking on all sides. Continue baking for another 10-12 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy.

Optional Variation:

For an even fluffier texture, lightly boil the potato sticks before baking. After boiling, follow the same steps of coating them with egg whites and spices before placing them in the oven.
