Honey Butter Skillet Corn is a simple and flavorful 15-minute side dish made with just a handful of ingredients: frozen corn, honey, butter, and cream cheese. It’s incredibly creamy, slightly sweet, and absolutely deliciousāa perfect complement to any meal!
Living in the Midwest, we are fortunate to enjoy fresh and flavorful corn, especially during mid-summer when local farmers sell it directly from their fields. This recipe captures the sweetness of corn in a rich and creamy dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights or any occasion.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 bag (16 oz) frozen corn
- 2 ounces cream cheese, cut into chunks
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Melt the butter and honey: In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and honey together.
- Cook the corn: Add the frozen corn and cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is heated through.
- Add the creaminess: Stir in the cream cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cream cheese is fully melted and the dish is creamy.
- Serve: Enjoy immediately. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes:
This recipe makes about 6 servings, but if you’re serving young children, you might be able to stretch it to 8 servings.
While “gold nā white” corn is recommended for its sweetness, any frozen corn will work. Just make sure to use a 16 oz (1 lb) bag.
